Pisa Museums – ‘Museum Night’. Saturday 18 May celebrates the Night of Museums, the initiative that every year reopens the doors of monuments and national bodies to visitors wishing to spend a "night at the museum", rediscovering the value of the art and culture of their territory. The province of Pisa offers numerous initiatives for the occasion. Also the National Museum of San Matteo adheres to the fifteenth edition of the European Museum Night, with three hours of extraordinary evening opening - 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm - and admission at the symbolic cost of 1 euro.

Viale delle Piagge – ‘Festa Sant’Ubaldo’. Viale delle Piagge will host again the long-awaited feast of Sant'Ubaldo with flowers, music and shows, a fixed appointment, now in its 40th edition which will take place from 16 to 19 May. The feast of St. Ubaldo has ancient and solemn origins to the point that in the past it took place in the presence of the major ecclesiastical authorities with a bath of crowds of pilgrims who came to Pisa to receive the blessing. Indeed, St. Ubaldo is still invoked today to intercede and distance the devil and the evils of the mind. As always, the program will be full of events, three music, flavors, shows in the vernacular and much more. Coloring the event from 10 am to 8 pm the free admission exhibitions at the SMS exhibition center entitled: 'The art of bonsai', 'Matches monuments' and 'Embroidery exhibition'. On the occasion of the Sant’Ubaldo festivity, Saturday May 18th the “Bonamici” Music School opens its doors to citizenship. In the headquarters of the SMS Center on Viale delle Piagge, it will be possible to visit the classrooms and attend free concerts starting at 3 pm until 8 pm.

Stazione Leopolda – ‘Il Mercantile’. Back to Pisa at the Stazione Leopolda, 'Il Mercantile', the most popular event in Tuscany for lovers of handmade and vintage. On 18th and 19th May, from 10 am to 11 pm, 70 merchants, carefully selected by the organization's staff, return to live in the beautiful location of Pisa, flooding the city with creativity. Undisputed protagonists will be bijoux, clothing, bags and accessories, furnishing accessories, ceramics, products for children, and much more, strictly handmade or vintage, most of the times unique.

Tirrenia – ‘AirShow Frecce Tricolori’. The Frecce Tricolori and the 'WeFly! Team (the only air patrol in the world in which 2 of the 3 pilots are disabled, to embellish the performance of the Frecce Tricolori) will arrive in Pisa on Friday 17 May. On this occasion the base will be open to local schools and the press. Saturday 18, from 3.30pm, the tests in view of the real Airshow, scheduled for Sunday 19th at 15.30. Meanwhile, a series of side events are being studied to further enhance the event. On the occasion of the Pisa Air Show 2019, which will allow to admire the Frecce Tricolori exhibition in the sky of the Pisan coast on Sunday 19 May, the photographic exhibition celebrating the incredible aerial acrobatics that have made the Frecce Tricolori patrol famous all over the world. The photographic exhibition, which traces the legendary figures and a bit of history of the Frecce Tricolori, will remain on display at Palazzo Gambacorti until Monday 20th May.

Palazzo Blu – "Explore. On the Moon and beyond ". From the incredible adventure that brought man to the moon, of which this year the 50 years recur, to the fantastic images of the boundaries of the Universe. It is the heart of the exhibition itinerary “Explore. Sulla Luna e oltre ”, the unpublished exhibition that arrives at Palazzo Blu since March 2019, curated by National Geographic and with the special collaboration of the Italian Space Agency. A fascinating journey through the wonders and mysteries of the universe through a collection of symbolic photos, models, videos and immersive and interactive experiences through which to retrace the main stages of man's journey through space. The Palazzo Blu exhibition leads to the discovery of the International Space Station, which represents the human outpost in Space: a zero-gravity environment in orbit around the Earth and that in about two decades hosted more than 200 astronauts from 18 nations on board . It is also a unique scientific laboratory of its kind and a symbol of international cooperation. And finally the Earth, The Blue Marble, has been defined as seen from Space in one of the rare photographs that portray our entire planet and completely illuminated. From the Space there is a unique observation point, from which to understand its fragility and complexity. The exhibition "Conquering the Solar System and Beyond" is also an invitation to question what the future of exploration will hold, today that the project of the first human colonies on Mars and on the Moon is increasingly insistent. The exhibition was designed for all ages, from the oldest to the schools, with educational courses for the classes built to integrate with school programs and, thanks to the guidance of educational staff, involving children in the understanding of important scientific phenomena.

Museo della Grafica – ‘A zoography for Pinocchio’. From Friday 1st March, at the Graphics Museum of Palazzo Lanfranchi, it is possible to visit the exhibition "A zoography for Pinocchio. Drawings by Filippo Sassòli 2009-2019 '. These are 35 drawings made by the Roman artist Filippo Sassòli and dedicated to animals that they meet Pinocchio in his adventures.Maked in pen with black ink, also spread with a more or less diluted brush and with metal tip finishes, the drawings are divided into two formats: the largest dedicated to "animal characters" and the smallest to the "extra animals", or to the animals defined by Sassòli himself "without a proper name, in lowercase and not dialoguing". The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog published by Edifir which will reproduce all the exhibited works, with texts by Barbara Jatta (director of Vatican Museums), Maria Antonella Fusco (director of the central graphics institute) and officials of the same Institute Rita Bernini, Gabriella Bocconi, Isabella Rossi and Fabio Fiorani Visiting hours are Monday to Sunday, from 9.00 to 20.00. The exhibition is organized by the Pisa Graphic Museum and the Central Graphic Institute of Rome, with the collaboration of the University Museum System of the University of Pisa, Fondazione Cerratelli, Tuscany Region.

Arsenali Repubblicani – ‘Bosch, Brueghel, Arcimboldo: digital art exhibition '. The big show-show Bosch, Brueghel, Arcimboldo arrives from November 14 to the Republican Arsenals of Pisa: 54 projectors reconstruct 360 degrees magical and dreamy atmospheres through a combination of projections, images, music and technology, giving the public a total immersion in works unique in their kind. From the Flemish style of the works of Bosch and the Brueghel dynasty to the burlesque and metaphorical art of Arcimboldo. Under the patronage of the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Pisa, the exhibition is produced in Italy by the Arthemisia Group and Sensorial Art Experience. Authors of the show are Gianfranco Iannuzzi, Renato Gatto, Massimiliano Siccardi and Luca Longobardi for the musical part. The show-show will open its doors on Wednesday, November 14th and will remain at the Republican Arsenals until May 26, 2019.

Museo della Grafica – "Alfred Hitchcock in Universal Pictures movies." From 7th April to 1st September 2019, the Graphic Museum (Municipality of Pisa, University of Pisa) presents an exhibition that investigates the figure of the director of the thrill Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980). Edited by Gianni Canova and produced and organized by ViDi, the exhibition itinerary analyzes the main masterpieces of Hitchcock, produced by Universal Pictures. 'Alfred Hitchcock in Universal Pictures' films, therefore presents 70 photographs and special contents from the archives of the American Major that lead the audience backstage to the main Hitchcock films, discovering curious details about the realization of the most famous scenes, the use of first special effects, on the actors and on the private life of the English director. Celebrated as one of the leading and most influential innovators in the history of cinema, Hitchcock is famous for his ingenuity, compelling story lines, camera management, original editing style, the ability to keep tension alive in every single frame.
